How to Print to PDF on iPad

Printing to PDF on an iPad is super handy when you want to save a document, webpage, email, or note for later use. Instead of sending it to a physical printer, you can create a PDF version right on your device. Here’s how:

1. Open the Document

Start by opening the item you want to save as a PDF. This could be:

  • A document from an app
  • A webpage in Safari
  • An email from Mail
  • A note in the Notes app

2. Tap the Share Button

Look for the Share icon (a square with an arrow pointing up). Tap it, then choose Print from the menu options.

3. View the Print Preview

A print preview screen will appear, showing how the page would look if printed. Don’t worry if you don’t have a printer connected — you won’t actually be printing.

4. Zoom Into the Preview

Place two fingers on the print preview and zoom in (pinch out). This action converts the preview into a PDF document.

5. Save as a PDF

After zooming, the document will open in PDF view. From here:

  • Tap the Share button again.
  • Choose Save to Files.
  • Pick a folder location.
  • Give the file a name and tap Save.

✅ Done!

You now have a PDF version of your document stored on your iPad. You can easily access it later in the Files app, send it by email, or upload it wherever you need.
